Description:
although there are 100 UBC towns not everybody can participate in every
project. So we exept young people
from 5 UBC towns.
Step 1-
each applicant UBC town will form a group of 25 students called a UBC class.
If there are more applicants than we can
accept this year at the camp, then there will be a contest and the
project will continue next year for those who can`t participate this year.
Step 2-
4 students (2 young men, 2 girls) are chosen from the UBC class. We expect 1
leader from each UBC town. The project consists of
2 steps:
step 1- connecting
by e-mail.
step2 -meeting at
the culture camp.
Connecting by e-mail. The students of Kärdla Secondary School will open the internet page to be free for connecting.Durning this period each UBC class together with its leader studies the 19th century
culture and history. The students will introduce their
activities through the internet page. The 4 students who will represent
the UBC class will prepare a cultural programme (1.5 hours). It could be
plays, songs, dances, games. We expect each group to involve the other
students in the programme (to teach the national songs, dances etc.)
Meeting at the culture camp.
The camp will take place on the island Hiiumaa in Kõpu Boarding School.
The camp will last for 7 days in June. Midsummer Day is very important in
Estonian culture and traditions. So the young people can enjoy Hiiumaa`s
bonfire.
There will be
workshops, presentations and excursions around Hiiumaa. The young people of
Kärdla Secondary School will show
the sights of Hiiumaa. On the last day of the camp we will visit the Rocca-al-
Mare open air museum in Tallinn.
Expences:each
group will cover the travel expences to Tallinn and back.
